American Black Film Festival’s Community Day

The GMCVB annually partners with ABFF, to host one day of film screenings for the community. This year’s screenings will take place on Sunday, June 18, at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Little Haiti. Attendees will have the opportunity to view three films and meet some of the filmmakers, courtesy of ABFF partners TV One and Fox Searchlight Pictures.

3:00 PM: FLORIDA FILM HOUSE STUDENT SHOWCASE – Films: Prodigal Son; Full Circle; Full Circle

The Florida Film House (FFH) 1st Take Youth Film Program is designed to provide Miami’s Youth with an introduction to filmmaking. FFH’s educational outreach program was created for children ages 12-18 in order to excite the imagination of young aspiring filmmakers, motivating them to succeed and arming them with the tools needed to do so. Three films were produced during the spring break program.

Proscenium Theatre

The Theatre provides a dynamic opportunity for playwrights and actors to develop new works and create live theater and film. We support all cultures and levels of theatrical performances, with combined artistry of professionals and community collaborators.The theatre features 300 auditorium style seats with six wheelchair accessible spaces, two balconies with an additional 40 seats, a 1,370 sq. ft. stage and a state-of-the-art control booth. Its Lobby, at 2,130 sq. ft., is highlighted with Afro-Caribbean accents.
